You may purchase an O X Ranch 100% Grass-fed Beef for $2.10 per pound “live weight” plus the cost of processing.  You may purchase a 1/4, 1/2, or whole animal.  If you purchase a whole animal, you will receive a 10% discount.

The following example may be helpful.

Assume a live weight of 1050 lbs:

        1050 x $2.10/pound =                          2205.00

10% discount (on whole animal)                     -220.50

                                                                1984.50

Processing Fee (the butcher/processor)           +350.00

Total approximate price                                2334.50

 

In this example, about 40% of the 1050 lb animal become cuts of beef.  This would result in approximately 420 lbs of meat at an average of $5.55 per pound. 

    Average price per pound of meat:  Approx. $5.55 !!!

Many ask how it is possible to sell at this price when the price charged by retail stores, for what they identify as “grass-fed”, is often more than twice the price of ordinary beef?  Although 100% grass-fed beef is much more expensive to produce, the O X Ranch is able to eliminate the large margin required by grocery stores.  Grocery stores need to cover their costs of acquiring expensive land, building expensive supermarkets and paying property taxes, insurance, utility and labor costs.  Direct marketing to consumers eliminates the hefty middleman costs so that the consumer benefits.
